Tri-Nex

Tri-Nex dental implants from Southern Implants feature a tapered, internal tri-lobe implant design with the addition of an internal hexagon for implant insertion.

Challenge

The conventional internal tri-lobe connection can be deformed at the time dental implants are inserted ("flowering").

Innovation

Tri-Nex dental implants feature an internal hexagon below the tri-lobe connection for implant insertion. This ensures the integrity of the tri-lobe at the time of restoration. The coronal walls of the 3.5mm and 4.3mm diameter Tri-Nex are reinforced to further strengthen the implant. The reinforcement of the coronal wall creates a beveled edge that allows for "platform switching." Tri-Nex dental implants feature a thread design that extends to the apex of the implant to increase overall surface area and primary stability in case of immediate placement following extraction.

Surgical and Prosthetic Benefits

  • Internal hex prevents flowering, especially in smaller diameter implants
  • Increased resistance to cyclic loading
  • Ability to use standard surgical protocol and instrumentation
  • Ability to use compatible prosthetic components
