Progut Chromic

Manufactured especially for Ostralos, these exceptional sutures are highly popular with top New Zealand surgeons.

Progut Chromic sutures are a sterile absorbable suture composed of purified connective tissue (collagen) derived from the submucosal layer of sheep (Ovine) and goat intestine. Progut Chromic is a material which has been tanned by a treatment with chromium salt in the trivalent form and with oxidized pyrogallol to prolong its resistance to absorption and to colour the material dark brown. The sutures are packed in a sterilizing fluid which contains isopropanol, water, sodium benzoate and 0.40 -0.45% of ethylene oxide.
